Afternoon Rest is inspired by the colours of the Bloomsbury artists.
It is part of a series of paintings I created after visiting Charleston House in East Sussex which was the home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. I was inspired by the simple domestic scenes and the feeling of rest and relaxation in the Charleston farmhouse.
Afternoon Rest is a beautiful still life painting in oil on a 15 x 15 cm cradled board. It has a gloss varnish finish which gives in a deep depth of rich colour which also seals and protects the painting from UV light.
Afternoon Rest is £65 including pp, if you wish to you can collect direct from my studio at Swinford Barn, Godinton House and save £5 on the postage.
